OSAR:  Outreach, Screening, Assessment and Referral

Description of Services:   

 

Outreach, Screening, Assessment and Referral is a free program funded by the Texas Department of State and Health Services that provides:

 

§         Confidential alcohol and drug screenings, and assessments;

§         Referrals for state-funded inpatient and outpatient drug and alcohol treatment; 

§         Brief interventions, which include motivational counseling;

§         Education and support;

§         Provide case management for clients who need assistance in accessing supportive services.

Who is Eligible for OSAR Services?

 

All Texas residents who are seeking substance abuse services and information may qualify.   If you have insurance, please contact your provider to determine if you have substance abuse coverage.  If you need assistance, please feel free to contact us.  Bluebonnet Trails Community MHMR Center/OSAR provides services for residents residing in Travis, Williamson, Burnet, Bastrop, Blanco, Caldwell, Coryell, Lee, Fayette, Hays, Washington, Burleson, Grimes, Brazos, Madison, Leon, Robertson, Milam, Bell, Lampasas, Hamilton, Mills, San Saba, and Llano counties.

What to Expect During the OSAR Intake Process:

 

Once an appointment is scheduled you will come in and meet with a counselor who will complete a drug and alcohol assessment.  The appointment can last 30 minutes to two hours depending on your individual need.  After your initial appointment OSAR can provide case management and weekly brief counseling sessions.

 

What to Bring to an Appointment:

 

At your appointment please bring identification, proof of income, proof of residence and information about your insurance provider (if you have it).

To schedule an appointment please call (512) 244-8444 or 1 (800) 841-1255.  We provide assessments at offices in Travis, Williamson, Bell, Brazos, Burnet, Bastrop and other counties as needed. 

  

ATR II:  Access to Recovery

 

Description of Services:

 

Access to Recovery II is a federal program that was designed to increase access to substance abuse services.  Key elements of the ATR II program include independent assessment, participant choice, and service linkages with faith-based and community-based organizations. 

 

Services available through ATR II: To be eligible for ATR II you must: 

 

§         Treatment services: detoxification (inpatient and outpatient), intensive residential, supportive residential, intensive outpatient treatment.

§         Recovery support services: individual recovery coaching, spiritual support, recovery support groups, life skills groups, GED training, employment coaching, family and marital counseling, and transitional housing.

§         Supportive services: independent assessment, care coordination, childcare and local transportation assistance.

 

The statewide ATR II program operates in Bexar, Burnet, Brooks, Collin, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Bend, Grayson, Harris, Harrison, Jim Wells, Lubbock, McLennan, Potter, Randall, Tarrant, Taylor, and Travis counties.  Bluebonnet Trails Community MHMR Center is the Assessment Provider for Travis and Burnet County. 

 

To be eligible for ATR II you must:

1)      be a resident of Travis or Burnet; and County

2)      be willing to maintain contact for six months of services; and  

3)      be involved with Adult, Juvenile or Family Drug Court; or 

4)      use methamphetamines.

 

What to Expect During the ATR II Intake Process:

 

Once an appointment is scheduled, you will come in and meet with a counselor who will complete a drug and alcohol assessment.  The appointment can last 30 minutes to two hours depending on your individual need.  After you complete an assessment your counselor will develop a service plan and will help you to decide the program that best fits your needs.  After the initial appointment your counselor will maintain at least monthly contact with you to assure that the services that you are involved with are meeting your needs.

How to be an ATR II Provider:

 

The ATR II program is seeking providers willing to provide treatment or recovery support services.  The first step in becoming a provider is to contact us at (512) 244-8340 and to schedule training. We can also help you complete the application to be an ATR II provider.  Also please refer to http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/sa/atr2/default.shtm for any additional questions and for the application to be a provider.
