Applications may be submitted either online or in person to the Human Resources office between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Current employees may be given preference.  Position may be filled by administrative transfer of employees before the closing date.

In accordance with department policy, the Federal Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988, and the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991, all applicants who receive a conditional offer of employment are required to take a pre-employment test for controlled substances.  Applicant will be required to complete the Physical Agility Review at the time of interview.

Consistent with the Texas Health and Safety Code, convictions of criminal offenses which constitute and absolute bar to employment include:

Criminal homicide Kidnapping and false imprisonment
Indecency with a child Sexual assault
Aggravated assault Injury to a child, elderly individual or disabled individual
Abandoning or endangering a child Aiding suicide
Agreement to abduct from custody Sale or purchase of a child
Arson Robbery
Aggravated Robbery Indecent Exposure
Improper relationship between educator and student Improper photography or visual recording
Deadly conduct Aggravated sexual assault
Terroristic threat Online solicitation of a minor
Money laundering Medicaid fraud
Cruelty to Animals False identification as a peace officer
Disorderly Conduct Felony conviction for theft within the previous five years
A conviction under the laws of another state, federal law, or the Uniform Code of Military Justice for an offense containing elements that are substantially similar to the elements of an offense listed above.

In addition, the following individuals may not be employed by, assigned volunteer status at or serve as a professional clinical intern at Bluebonnet Trails Community MHMR Center or provider:

  • An individual who has been convicted of any of the criminal offenses listed above;

  • An individual who has been convicted of an offense that Bluebonnet Trails Community MHMR Center has determined to be a contraindication to employment or volunteer status at that entity;

  • An individual who is listed as revoked in the Nurse Aid Registry; or

  • An individual who is listed as unemployable in the Employee Misconduct Registry.

Consistent with the Texas Government Code, Bluebonnet Trails Community MHMR Center shall destroy conviction information from the Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) or the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), whether obtained through the department or a private agency, after an employment/volunteer decision has been made or personal action has been taken.
