Crisis Services

Are you feeling overwhelmed and don’t know where to turn? Are you having thoughts of wanting to hurt yourself or someone else? Are you worried about someone else who may be struggling with depression? Bluebonnet Trails Community Services wants to help you. If you would like to talk with someone, you can call the Crisis Hotline at 1-800-841-1255. Staff are available to talk with you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Bluebonnet Trails Community Services is dedicated to having well trained staff to assist any individual in our region who is in a behavioral health crisis. A behavioral health crisis may include but is not limited to:

  • Feeling that you are at risk of hurting yourself or someone else 
  • The feeling that you can no longer cope with life
  • Feelings of severe or overwhelming anxiety or fear.
 

The overarching purpose of crisis services is to provide a comprehensive array of treatment options and service needs for individuals (adult or children) who are in a mental health crisis. Crisis staff members will assess individuals in crisis and develop a treatment plan to aid in reducing symptoms of crisis and provide needed treatment referrals.

Crisis Services are available to any individual in the Bluebonnet Trails Community Services region which includes the following counties: Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Guadalupe, Gonzales, Lee, and Williamson.

Crisis Hotline (1-800-841-1255)

The Crisis Hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Hotline is answered by qualified and highly trained mental health professionals. Hotline callers receive immediate assessments, crisis intervention services if needed and referral to additional community resources. However, if the caller is in imminent danger, a staff member will contact 911.

Any individual who contacts the Crisis Hotline will receive immediate assessment of needs, support services, and assistance linking with the most appropriate professional provider based on determined needs. This may include further referrals and support from Bluebonnet Trails Community Services or referral to professionals in the community.

The Crisis Hotline is accredited by the American Association of Suicidology (AAS) and staff are trained in accordance with AAS standards.

Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT)

The Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) goes into the community in the Bluebonnet Trails Community Services Region to provide crisis services and support to individuals in a mental health crisis. MCOT often evaluates and provides services to individuals in their home, school, the local emergency room, on the streets, places of business, or anywhere in the community.

  • MCOT team is made up of an array of qualified and highly trained mental health professionals.
  • MCOT services are available for immediate response 24 hours a day throughout the region.
  • MCOT services focus on providing timely crisis assessments and development of a treatment plan unique to the individual’s needs.
  • MCOT team member will often also follow up with individuals after a crisis to ensure they receive the support needed to complete the developed treatment plan.
  • MCOT works closely with local law enforcement, other mental health community providers, psychiatric hospitals and other community partners to ensure the highest level of collaborative assistance.
  • MCOT receives referrals on individuals of all ages from community agencies, schools, law enforcement, local hospitals, families, and individuals.
